Types of adoption

Adopting a child

When most people think about adoption, they think of young babies. Although we do have babies in our care, the reality is most children who need adopting are older and there is a broad age range.

No matter their age most of our children will have experienced an uncertain start in life. Many have challenging behaviours or particular needs – for example some of our older children may require extra learning support at school; others may become anxious if they are left in a room alone.

The difference becoming part of a stable, loving and caring family can make is huge.

We will always let you know the circumstances that have led to a baby or child needing adoption, any additional support you may need to provide and of course we will take the time to ensure we make the right match.

Our aim is to place children in a new family, as quickly as we can. At the forefront of our work is the goal of ensuring adopted children are safe, happy and thriving; and that their adoptive families are informed and supported through every step of their adoption journey.
