LGBT+ Adoption

We have many same-sex couples, or single people from the LGTB+ community, in Lancashire and Blackpool who are providing stable and loving homes for children and young people who cannot live with their own families.

Adoption stories: Be The Change

Shelly and Isla adopted two boys: They said "When the boys came to us it felt like it was always destined for them to be with us. We’ve got an amazing family unit and they’ve enriched not only our lives but all of our extended families’ lives as well."

Louise and Clare adopted with Adoption Lancashire & Blackpool and have never looked back. They told us, "We finally have the family we dreamed of. Parenthood is no easy task for anyone but we are often reminded why this was all worth it, with each smile or giggle. We only wish we had adopted sooner."

Neil and Harris adopted a baby boy: "Our life has changed so much since we became parents; priorities change when you have a child, but that’s the same for any new family. The first few days were hard work, having to become full time parents overnight is tough, but it gets easier and there are always those moments which remind you why you chose to adopt - whether it’s a smile, a hug or a giggle.

Get in touch

To be considered as an adopter, people need to be over 21, and living in or close to Lancashire or Blackpool.

There is no such thing as a typical adopter.

We welcome applications from people of any sexuality or gender – you don’t have to be married or have a partner either, we have lots of excellent single adopters.

What matters is that you can open your hearts and open your homes to a child who may have not had the greatest start in life.

The adoption process includes everyone – having children can be for everyone.

If you are considering adoption, please get in touch with us.
