Could you be my mummy or daddy?

 Pheobe and Lewis

Meet 2-year-olds Phoebe and Lewis who both love splashing in the bath and singing.

Another thing they have in common is that they are looking to find their own mummy or daddy to love them.

The toddlers live separately and have never met, but we are hoping that by sharing their details together we can find two loving homes, so that there's one for each of them.

We have changed their names and images to protect their identities, but the rest of the details about Phoebe and Lewis are all true.

Pheobe

Phoebe is an adorable and caring little girl who loves to give kisses and cuddles.

Her foster carer says "everybody just loves her."

She is a busy little girl who loves to play in the garden and go for walks. She also enjoys colouring, dancing and people singing to her.

Phoebe absolutely loves spending time with other people and animals.

Lewis is a happy little boy who gives great big smiles to his foster carer.

He loves music and people singing to him, and is just as happy playing at home as he is going to play groups.

Lewis loves to swim every week and he loves splashing around in the water with his foster carer.

He also loves sensory lights and toys, especially twinkly lights.

Lewis

Lewis has some extra care needs as he has hydrocephalus and he has had a shunt fitted to drain fluid from his brain.

He has epilepsy and regular seizures, and takes a number of medications each day. He also has a nasal feeding tube.

There are a lot of uncertainties about his future, as it is possible that his condition is life limiting, so it's really important that he finds a family who can dedicate lots of time to meeting his care needs, as well as providing the security of a loving home.

Phoebe is a little delayed in some areas of her development, she has slow weight gain and she also has a Ventricular Septal Defect.

This is a hole in the wall that separates the heart's ventricles (lower chambers).

This doesn’t currently impact Phoebe and she could live a normal life with this condition.

County Councillor Cosima Towneley, cabinet member for Children and Families said:

"I really hope we can find loving families for these two toddlers.

"With their most formative moments just round the corner there is so much joy ahead for them and their new home.

"If you have been thinking of adoption, now is the perfect time to take that initial step."

Louise Anderson, chair of Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool, continued:

"We would love to be able to find caring homes for Phoebe and Lewis.

"We know that there are many special people out there who could provide these children with stable and nurturing families.

"I'd encourage you to come along to an adoption information event to have a chat to our team who can explain more about the support available to adopters and answer any questions that you might have."

Councillor Jim Hobson, Blackpool Council's cabinet member for Children’s Social Care, said:

"We accept applications from people of any sexuality or gender to adopt. It doesn't matter if you are married, have a partner or are single. Caring for children can be for anyone.

"The next information event is Monday 9 December 4pm - 5.30pm in The Exchange (Jordan Suite), County Hall, Preston.

"Simply book a place online and come and meet our knowledgeable team."
